Bracket 2. As an unmodified stock precon with no Game Changers, no fast mana beyond Sol Ring, and no two-card infinite combos, Mutant Menace sits squarely in Bracket 2 of the official bracket system.

Power level

A grindy mid-power value deck that ramps into a snowballing counters engine. It rewards a long game and can build an overwhelming board, but it lacks the speed, tutors, and interaction density of higher brackets.

Matchups

It shines at casual and battlecruiser tables where games go long and its incremental advantage compounds. It struggles against fast combo decks and heavy stax that close the game before the rad-counter engine matters.

What to watch for

Self-mill can feed opponents' graveyard strategies, and the deck is soft to board wipes since so much of its value lives on the battlefield in counters. Keep Inspiring Call or Mutational Advantage up when you commit a big board.

Add a board-wipe insurance package: Cards like Heroic Intervention or additional copies of indestructible protection guard your counter-heavy board against the sweepers this deck fears. Not part of the stock list.
More proliferate engines: Adding repeatable proliferate such as Evolution Sage or Flux Channeler accelerates both rad and +1/+1 counters far faster than the stock build. Optional upgrade only.
Graveyard hate for the table: A single piece like Bojuka Bog or Soul-Guide Lantern lets you punish the opposing graveyard decks your self-mill might otherwise enable. Not in the stock list.
Stronger card draw: Swapping in efficient repeatable draw such as Beast Whisperer or The Great Henge smooths the grind and refuels after a wipe. Optional addition.
Better mana base: Upgrading the temple and tapland heavy base with untapped duals and fetches like Verdant Catacombs or shocklands speeds out The Wise Mothman more reliably. Optional only.
Targeted removal and interaction: Adding instant-speed answers like Assassin's Trophy or Pongify raises the deck's interaction density toward the top of Bracket 2. Not part of the stock precon.
A finisher or two: A clean closer such as Overwhelming Stampede or Craterhoof Behemoth converts the wide counter board into reliable lethal. Optional upgrade, not stock.
Counter payoffs: Cards like Bloodspore Thrinax or Conclave Mentor add to the doubler and counter-payoff density the deck already wants. Optional addition only.
