Bracket 4 readout.

Say before shuffling up

Bracket 4 Golgari Squirrel combo with Chatterfang. Twelve Game Changers and a dense tutor suite. Plunderer works with the commander's own sacrifice ability; Soultrader, Squirrel Nest with Earthcraft, and Squirrel Girl are the other repeatable engines. Some outlets draw instead, so those versions stop at my library. Combat can close with Craterhoof or infect. Search hate and free interaction, no extra turns, no mass land denial. Turn-five attempts are an author estimate. I will demonstrate a finite loop and allow responses.

Table disclosures

Classification
Declared Bracket 4: four tutorable combo families with multiple assemblies, plus twelve Game Changers, which is what the bracket is for; not cEDH.
Game Changers
12 listed: Ancient Tomb, Crop Rotation, Demonic Tutor, Gaea's Cradle, Mana Vault, Natural Order, Opposition Agent, Orcish Bowmasters, Survival of the Fittest, The One Ring, Vampiric Tutor, Worldly Tutor. Checked against the February 9, 2026 Game Changers list.
Infinite combos
Four engine families with multiple assemblies, all disclosed: Warren Soultrader plus Chatterfang, which needs one spare creature to start and costs 1 life a pass; Squirrel Nest plus Earthcraft on a basic land; Pitiless Plunderer plus Chatterfang can use the commander as its outlet with one Squirrel and initial B (net-zero mana), or two Squirrels (net-positive Treasure); target one of the sacrificed Squirrels and repeat the death triggers. Additional outlet variants are Ashnod's Altar, Phyrexian Altar, Viscera Seer, Skullclamp, or Yawgmoth, Thran Physician; and The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl sustained by Earthcraft, by Jaheira plus Shang-Chi, by Phyrexian Altar from six Squirrels up with Chatterfang on the battlefield and eight without him, or by Warren Soultrader. This is not an exhaustive assembly count. Counting the commander's own ability alongside the five outlet cards, four of those six Plunderer outlets run forever; Skullclamp and Yawgmoth draw, so those two stop at the library, and Yawgmoth stops at my life total without a lifegain drain. The Soultrader engine is unbounded only behind a drain that gives the life back, which is Zulaport Cutthroat, Bastion of Remembrance, Nadier's Nightblade, Cauldron of Essence, or Blood Artist, or behind Academy Manufactor. Mirkwood Bats converts the listed routes on its own, because it is the only drain that reads token creation; every other drain waits on a body leaving the battlefield or a swing, so the three creation-only assemblies need an outlet added.
Mass land denial
None.
Extra turn spells
None.
Fast mana
Mana Vault and Ancient Tomb, both counted in the Game Changers; Dark Ritual, Culling the Weak and Lotus Petal, which are not on the list; and Sol Ring, which is exempt.
Tutors
Eleven: Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Diabolic Intent, Emeritus of Woe, Worldly Tutor, Chord of Calling, Survival of the Fittest, Finale of Devastation, Green Sun's Zenith, Natural Order, and Crop Rotation. Survival of the Fittest and Emeritus of Woe are the two repeatable ones: Survival as often as I can pay, Emeritus whenever two or more creatures died on my turn. Chord of Calling is the instant-speed one: convoke lets the Squirrel board pay for it, and it puts the creature straight onto the battlefield, so a Grafdigger's Cage stops it the way it stops Green Sun's Zenith. Urza's Saga is a twelfth search on a land, and its third chapter reaches four artifacts.

Pace note. All turn windows are author estimates, not measured results. Distinguish a first elimination from winning the whole table.

Read this before sitting down at a Bracket 4Commander brackets: 1 Exhibition, 2 Core, 3 Upgraded, 4 Optimized, 5 cEDH. Assess Game Changers, intent, pace and disruptive patterns together. Squirreled Away pod. The pregame above is the script you read out loud; the compliance table is what to volunteer if asked; the Q&A handles the rest. The whole social contract is one sentence: the deck says what it is before the first shuffle, then attempts exactly that.

Game Changers

Twelve. The list gets named on request, slot by slot.

GC (Game Changer)
best tutor Demonic Tutor
{1}{B} sorcery. Any card in the library, straight to hand. Two of the engines need only one card found, since Chatterfang is the commander: Warren Soultrader, or Pitiless Plunderer with the commander's own ability as the outlet. The rest are two slots plus a drain for the kill in their cheapest build, so this is the card that turns half a combo into a combo.
GC (Game Changer)
instant tutor Vampiric Tutor
{B} instant. Any card to the top of the library for 2 life. Fired on the end step before your turn, the next draw is the missing piece, and the drains pay the life back.
GC (Game Changer)
green tutor Natural Order
{2}{G}{G} sorcery. Sacrifice a green creature: any green creature card from the library onto the battlefield. Turns one Squirrel into Craterhoof Behemoth.
GC (Game Changer)
repeatable tutor Survival of the Fittest
{1}{G} enchantment. {G} and a discarded creature card find any creature card, as often as I can pay. One of two repeatable tutors with Emeritus of Woe, and the one that pays a card out of hand; it filters rather than draws, and the discard loads the graveyard for Reanimate, so a creature already in hand is on the battlefield for two mana total.
GC (Game Changer)
creature tutor Worldly Tutor
{G} instant. Any creature card from the library to the top of it. Fired on the end step before your turn it finds Craterhoof Behemoth, Viscera Seer, or the missing Squirrel Girl piece, and it carries no color clause, so it reaches the black half of every loop that Green Sun's Zenith cannot.
GC (Game Changer)
fast mana Mana Vault
{1} artifact. Taps for {C}{C}{C} and does not untap unless you pay {4}. The card that pushes a turn-three Chatterfang and a turn-five attempt.
GC (Game Changer)
fast mana Ancient Tomb
Land. Taps for {C}{C} and deals 2 damage to you. Two extra mana is the difference between attempting on turn five and turn six, and Crop Rotation fetches it the turn it matters.
GC (Game Changer)
wide-board land Gaea's Cradle
Legendary land. Taps for one green per creature I control, every creature and not just the Squirrels. On a combo board that is the biggest mana source in the deck, and Crop Rotation fetches it at instant speed. It adds nothing on an empty board, and it is nonbasic, so it is no help to the Nest line.
GC (Game Changer)
draw engine The One Ring
{4} legendary artifact. Indestructible, a turn of protection from everything when cast, and a tap draws a growing pile priced in life. The refuel after a wrath; the protection covers you, not your permanents, so it blanks burn and targeted player effects while the combo pieces stay targetable.
GC (Game Changer)
land bullet Crop Rotation
{G} instant. Sacrifice a land: any land from the library onto the battlefield. A four-mode toolbox in one green mana; the play guide carries the full target list.
GC (Game Changer)
search hoser Opposition Agent
{2}{B} flash creature. You control opponents while they search, and they exile what they find for you to play. Flashed into a fetch land or a tutor, their answer becomes your card.
GC (Game Changer)
draw punisher Orcish Bowmasters
{1}{B} flash creature. On enter and on every opponent draw beyond their first each draw step, 1 damage anywhere, then amass Orcs 1. Flashed at a big draw spell, every card costs the caster.

How the deck closes

Four disclosed combo families, with commander-outlet and alternate-outlet variants, plus a combat endgame. The tutors find the pieces; the play guide walks the assembly. What the pod needs to know:

1. The Soultrader engine. Warren Soultrader plus Chatterfang plus any drain. Pay 1 life, sacrifice a Squirrel, make a Treasure, and Chatterfang hands the Squirrel back beside it, so the board holds and a Treasure banks each pass. It is one of two loops a single tutor finishes, because the commander is half of it; Pitiless Plunderer with the commander as outlet is the other. Two disclosures: it reads another creature, so it needs one spare body to start, and the 1 life a pass caps it at my life total unless a drain that gains life is out, which is Zulaport Cutthroat, Bastion of Remembrance, Nadier’s Nightblade, Cauldron of Essence, or Blood Artist. Academy Manufactor lifts the cap instead, by turning the Treasure into a Food.

2. Nest plus Earthcraft. Squirrel Nest on a basic land, Earthcraft untaps that basic for every new Squirrel, and the whole line is activated abilities, so it runs at instant speed. Lethal on the spot with Mirkwood Bats out; with the death-triggered drains it needs a sacrifice outlet too.

3. The Plunderer engine. Chatterfang plus Pitiless Plunderer already has an outlet: use the commander’s ability with one Squirrel and initial black mana, targeting the sacrificed Squirrel, for repeatable deaths. Two Squirrels bank Treasure instead. Add a suitable payoff. Five additional outlet variants are: Ashnod’s Altar, Phyrexian Altar, and Viscera Seer sacrifice for free, Yawgmoth, Thran Physician sacrifices for 1 life, and Skullclamp sacrifices nothing at all, killing the Squirrel by state-based action instead. Each pass returns the Squirrel it spent and puts a death trigger on the stack, banking a Treasure in four of the five builds and spending it on the next equip in the Skullclamp one, so it drains the table while the mana piles up. The three that do not draw run forever; Skullclamp draws two a pass and Yawgmoth draws one, so those two stop at the library and get called library-limited, not infinite. Announced as a shortcut with a named number of iterations, never ground out one Squirrel at a time.

4. Squirrel Girl going wide. The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl makes X Squirrels where X is the number of Squirrels on this side, so every activation more than doubles the board. Earthcraft cycles a single basic Forest into her activation cost by tapping the fresh Squirrels, Jaheira plus Shang-Chi turn each new Squirrel into instant mana, from six Squirrels up with Chatterfang on the battlefield Phyrexian Altar pays the cost in death triggers, and Warren Soultrader pays it for 4 life with no Squirrel threshold at all, since Chatterfang returns each body he eats. All activated abilities, all instant speed.

The fair closes. Green Sun’s Zenith, Natural Order, Finale of Devastation, or Chord of Calling at X equals eight into Craterhoof Behemoth, then Triumph of the Hordes over the team. Survival of the Fittest discards a Hoof already in hand for one green and Reanimate brings it back for one black and 8 life, two mana total; if Survival has to find the Hoof first it is three mana and a second creature to discard, and Reanimate has to be in hand either way. Finale at X equals ten is its own finisher. No loop required.

If they ask

How many Game Changers?
Twelve. They all get named at rule-zeroThe pre-game conversation about deck power, combos, tutors and table expectations, held before the first shuffle so nobody is surprised by what the deck does. on request, and the slot-by-slot readout is the section above.
Any infinite combos?
Four engine families with multiple assemblies. All are named in the pregame and walked in the closes section; none get slow-played. The Clamp and Yawgmoth variants draw rather than loop forever and get called library-limited out loud, and the Soultrader engine costs 1 life a pass, so it is capped at my life total unless a lifegain drain is out. Each stops to ordinary removal: the Plunderer engine dies to artifact removal on an Altar or on Skullclamp, or to creature removal when it is built on Viscera Seer or Yawgmoth instead, the Nest line dies to either enchantment being answered, the Soultrader engine dies to creature removal on either half, and every version of the Squirrel Girl engine dies to removal on Squirrel Girl herself.
How fast?
Attempts from around turn five. Tutor on four, attempt on five behind the flash interaction. Attempts, not guarantees: the table sees the tutor and gets a full round to answer.
Do you hold interaction?
Yes. Deadly Rollick exiles a creature, free while Chatterfang is on the battlefield, and Snuff Out and Force of Vigor are also free under their own conditions, so open mana is not the whole story. Abrupt Decay cannot be countered, Assassin’s Trophy answers any permanent at instant speed, and Imp’s Mischief redirects any spell with a single target, which includes pointing a counterspell at Imp’s Mischief itself. Veil of Summer for one mana shuts the blue and black seats out of the combo turn, and Heroic Intervention for two gives every permanent hexproof and indestructible through a wrath. Everything gets held for the card that stops the line, not the first threat.
Can you play something lower?
Yes, and the offer is real. This is a Bracket 4 build, so dialing it down is not the move; instead I have lower-bracket decks on hand and I am glad to sleeve one of those if the table would rather.
Why Bracket 4 and not lower?
Twelve Game Changers and four tutorable combo engines is not a lower list. The declaration is the point: the deck names its power before the shuffle and attempts when it said it would.

MTG terms that show up above.

Open glossary
Game Changer
A specific card on Wizards' published Game Changer list. Bracket 3 caps at 3. Bracket 4 has no published cap, but running more than a few flags more attention at the table.
Bracket
Wizards' Commander conversation framework: 1 Exhibition, 2 Core, 3 Upgraded, 4 Optimized, 5 cEDH. A stock precon is not automatically a particular bracket. Discuss deck intent, speed, consistency, and play patterns as well as card restrictions.
Voltron
The strategy of stacking equipment, auras, and counters onto a single creature (usually the commander) to one-shot opponents through commander damage.
Commander damage
A player who has been dealt 21 or more combat damage by the same commander over the game loses. Track each commander separately, including partners. Noncombat damage does not count, and gaining life does not erase this total.
ETB
Short for 'enters the battlefield'. Any triggered ability that fires when a permanent enters play is an ETB trigger.
Equip
An Equipment's activated ability: pay its equip cost to attach it to a target creature you control. Normally activate only during your main phase with an empty stack and priority. A separate attach effect follows its own timing and restrictions.
Attach
The keyword action for putting an Equipment or Aura onto a creature. ETB triggers that attach an equipment for free bypass both the equip cost and the sorcery-speed limit.
Free equip
Attaching without paying the printed equip cost. Sigarda's Aid supplies a triggered attach effect. Puresteel Paladin with metalcraft grants equip 0, which still uses normal equip timing unless another effect changes it.
Treasure
Sacrificial colorless artifact token. Tap, sacrifice it, add one mana of any color. Counts as an artifact for triggers and metalcraft.
Phase Out
A phased-out permanent is treated as though it does not exist, with limited exceptions. Phasing is not a zone change, destruction, or exile. It normally phases in during its controller's untap step, but effects such as Out of Time specify a different duration.
Cascade
A cast trigger: exile cards until you exile a nonland card with lower mana value than the cascade spell. You may cast it without paying its mana cost only if the resulting spell also has lower mana value. Put the other exiled cards on the bottom in a random order.
Affinity
A cost-reduction keyword. 'Affinity for artifacts' means the spell costs 1 less to cast for each artifact you control.
Modified
A creature is modified if it has a counter, is equipped, or is enchanted by an Aura controlled by that creature's controller. The Equipment's controller does not matter; the Aura's controller does.
Vigilance
Attacking does not cause a creature with vigilance to tap. It still needs to be untapped and otherwise eligible to attack. Brave the Sands grants vigilance; Shadowspear grants trample and lifelink instead.
Lifelink
Damage dealt by a source with lifelink also causes its controller to gain that much life at the same time. Shadowspear grants lifelink. Vampiric Link instead uses a triggered life-gain ability that resolves later and is not lifelink.
Mindslaver
A 'Mindslaver effect' lets you control an opponent's next turn: their draws, plays, and attacks. Named for the Mindslaver artifact; some commander-specific triggers replicate the effect.
Metalcraft
An ability word marking effects that care whether you control three or more artifacts. Read the individual card: metalcraft is not itself an activated ability or a shared rules ability.
Impulse draw
Exile cards from the top of your library, then you may play them this turn (sometimes longer). At higher power levels, mass impulse effects double as burst card advantage and mana.
Mulligan
Under the London mulligan, shuffle and draw seven each time, then put cards on the bottom after choosing to keep. In multiplayer Commander the first mulligan is free; a keep after the second mulligan puts one card back, the third puts two back, and so on.
Drain
A trigger that makes an opponent lose life and gains you that much, Blood Artist style. Life loss is not damage, so it goes through protection and prevention that only stop damage.
Rule-zero
The pre-game conversation about deck power, combos, tutors and table expectations, held before the first shuffle so nobody is surprised by what the deck does.
Summoning sickness
A creature cannot attack, and cannot activate an ability with the tap or untap symbol in its cost, unless it has been under its controller's control continuously since their most recent turn began (CR 302.6). Haste turns it off, and it never applies to other permanent types.
Replacement effect
A continuous effect that watches for an event and replaces it with a different one as it happens, rather than triggering afterwards (CR 614.1). When several would apply to the same event, the affected object's controller or the affected player picks the order (CR 616.1).
Storm
A triggered ability that functions on the stack: when you cast the spell, copy it for each other spell cast before it this turn (CR 702.40a). The copies are not cast, so they never add to the storm count themselves.
Mana Vault
A one-mana artifact that taps for three colorless mana and does not untap during your untap step. Its upkeep trigger lets you pay {4} to untap it. Its draw-step trigger deals 1 damage to you if it is still tapped; paying or declining the upkeep cost is not itself the damage condition.
