100 CARDS.Bracket 4.

Legendary Enchantment Creature - God, 5/4, indestructible. As long as your devotion to white and black is less than seven, Athreos isn't a creature. Whenever another creature you own dies, return it to your hand unless target opponent pays 3 life. This is always an indestructible enchantment, so it survives destroy-based wipes at any devotion, and while your devotion to white and black is under seven it survives Toxic Deluge and The Meathook Massacre as well, then immediately starts rebuying what just died. The Meathook Massacre's own count toward that devotion once it is on the battlefield, before its -X/-X applies, so casting it from devotion five or more makes him a creature first. Your own wipes still catch him: Farewell's exile-all-enchantments mode exiles him whatever the devotion, and at devotion seven or more he is a 5/4 creature that Farewell's exile-all-creatures mode also exiles and Toxic Deluge or The Meathook Massacre at X=4 or more kills straight through indestructible (CR 704.5f). Every trigger on a nontoken creature is lose-lose for the opponent: they pay 3 life, which is a drain event that Bloodthirsty Conqueror converts into lifegain for you (ticking Karlov and Archangel of Thune and checking the drain loops), or the creature returns to your hand. Triggers on creatures you OWN, so it fires on tokens too (they can't return, so the opponent declines those for free). Teysa Karlov doubles it, presenting the choice twice per death. The recursion is to HAND, not the battlefield, so it is slower than direct reanimation and requires a recast.

3/3. At the beginning of your end step, you may sacrifice an artifact, creature, enchantment, land, or planeswalker; each opponent then either sacrifices a permanent sharing a card type with it, or loses 2 life while you draw a card. Sacrifice what you don't need: a spare land late, a Westvale Cleric, a Skullclamp body, or a Treasure. Opponent life loss triggers Exquisite Blood and Bloodthirsty Conqueror, which means lifegain, Karlov counters, and drain-loop ignition. A creature sacrifice fires Grave Pact, Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Syr Konrad, Sephiroth, and The Meathook Massacre (doubled by Teysa Karlov), and Athreos can return it unless it was a token. Cash-out line: sacrifice a Karlov covered in counters and Felisa makes that many Inklings (twice with Teysa); Karlov still dies before moving to the command zone (CR 903.9a). Sun Titan can rebuy Braids (MV 3). Replaces Esper Sentinel, whose tax is blunted when opponents simply pay .

When a nontoken creature you control with counters dies, X tapped 2/1 WB Inkling tokens with flying (X = its counters). Combos w/ Teysa + Karlov.

5/5 indestructible enchantment creature (creature only at 5+ white devotion). Activated : another target creature gains lifelink until end of turn. Whenever you gain life: +1/+1 counter on target creature or enchantment. Combo piece with Ballista. The lifelink is an activated ability, not static.

(4 generic and three Phyrexian black), 2/2 lifelink, castable for 4 plus 6 life. For each black pip in any cost you may pay 2 life instead of the mana, and it gets a +1/+1 counter whenever you cast a black spell. A life-for-mana engine that dumps the black half of the deck out in one turn: Sanguine Bond, Exquisite Blood, Necropotence, Bolas's Citadel, Vilis, Toxic Deluge. The life spent is offset by the lifelink and the Soul Sisters, and every payment is life loss that Vilis turns into card draw. Spend life to combo, not to durdle. Display printing is the FF Through the Ages flavor card Emet-Selch, Ascian.

2/2 flying lifelink legendary artifact creature. Opponents' creatures get -1/-1, so X/1 token boards die on entry (their tokens still trigger Authority of the Consuls and Suture Priest on the way in, then their deaths trigger Blood Artist, Syr Konrad, Sephiroth, and The Meathook Massacre's lifegain half). Lifelink hits are lifegain events for Karlov. Pay 3 life: connive, only on your turn, no activation limit. Paying life is losing life (CR 119.4), so with Vilis out each activation also draws 3. Replaces Serra Ascendant, which shrinks to a 1/1 below 30 life in a deck that pays life constantly.

legendary. ETB/attack: may sac another creature, draw a card. Whenever another creature dies: opp loses 1, you gain 1. The fourth time that drain resolves in a turn, he transforms into a 5/5 flier with a Blood Artist emblem. Triggered sac + drain + draw in one card. Teysa doubles the death triggers so two deaths transforms.

4/5 Phyrexian Praetor, deathtouch. Whenever you draw a card you gain 2 life; whenever an opponent draws a card they lose 2 life. A drain-on-a-body that taxes the table's card advantage. Every opponent draw costs them 2 and stacks with Smothering Tithe on the same trigger. Each of your own draws (The One Ring, Sensei's Divining Top, Braids, Pact Weapon) gains you 2, which triggers Karlov for +2/+2 and becomes table drain when Sanguine Bond or Vito is out. Necropotence and Bolas's Citadel do not trigger it, since neither draws. Replaces Mentor of the Meek as a higher-impact draw payoff one pip up at 4 mana.

5/4. Whenever another creature dies, or a creature card is put into a graveyard from anywhere other than the battlefield, or a creature card leaves your graveyard, deals 1 damage to each opponent. : each player mills a card. A death-trigger reach payoff that burns every opponent at once, so a board wipe, a Toxic Deluge, or a Sephiroth sac chain becomes table-wide damage, doubled by Teysa Karlov. It does not gain life by itself, but Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror turns its damage into lifegain that pumps Karlov and can ignite the drain loops. It also closes games the drain plan stalls on. The mill and Volrath's Stronghold or Sun Titan pulling a creature out of your graveyard both trigger it too.

If a creature dying causes a triggered ability of a permanent you control to trigger, that ability triggers an additional time. Creature tokens you control have vigilance and lifelink, so every token that connects is a lifegain trigger.

Lifegain = drain. Mini Sanguine Bond.

Drain 1 on any death. Doubled by Teysa.

One extra B per Swamp tapped (doubles basics; a Coffers tap gets +1B, not double). Urborg makes every land feed it.

During your turn, opponents can't cast spells or activate abilities of artifacts, creatures, or enchantments (lands and planeswalkers still work).

Gain 1 whenever another creature enters, anyone's. Engine.

Same as Warden, second copy.

Recur CMC 3 on enter or attack.

Gain 1 when your own creatures enter; an opposing creature entering makes that player lose 1 life. Drain effect.

X colorless. Pings target. INFINITE w/ Heliod.

Whenever it or another creature you control dies, each opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life. Own-side deaths only, unlike Blood Artist, but it drains every opponent instead of one player.

1 artifact equipment. Equipped gets +1/+1, trample, lifelink. 1 (no target): permanents your opponents control lose hexproof/indestructible EOT. Equip 2. On Karlov: organic +2/+2 growth from lifelink combat plus removal-protection bypass against indestructible threats.

2 legendary artifact equipment, equip 2. Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage (any combat damage, not just to a player), put two charge counters on Umezawa's Jitte. Remove a counter for one mode: equipped creature gets +2/+2 until end of turn / target creature gets -1/-1 until end of turn / you gain 2 life. The gain-2-life mode is the engine play: instant-speed, mana-free lifegain that grows Karlov +2/+2 per counter and starts any Sanguine-half loop. The -1/-1 mode is repeatable small-creature removal.

equipment. Equip = discard a card (not mana). On attack: draw, reveal, equipped creature gets +X/+X EOT and you lose X life (X = card's mana value). The don't-lose-at-0 clause lets you pay life down to 0 and survive, backstopping Necropotence, Citadel, Mana Vault, and life-payment tutors. With Bloodthirsty Conqueror it drives the Aetherflux table-kill: pay 50 (survive at 0), deal 50 to an opponent, Conqueror refunds the 50, repeat.

2 artifact equipment. Equipped gets lifelink. When equipped creature dies, return it to the battlefield at the next end step. Equip 4. Lifelink on Karlov plus recursion without commander tax if you leave him in the graveyard, but his counters are lost.

equipment, Equip . Equipped creature gets +1/-1; whenever it dies, draw two cards, four with Teysa Karlov out (she doubles the trigger). Turns 1-toughness bodies into cards: Soul Warden, Soul's Attendant, Suture Priest, Zulaport Cutthroat, Orcish Bowmasters, Mother of Runes, Blood Artist (0/1), and the tokens from Westvale Abbey (Clerics), Bastion of Remembrance (Soldier), Castle Ardenvale (Humans), Felisa (2/1 Inklings) and Orcish Bowmasters' Orc Army while it has one counter. Every death also fires Grave Pact, Blood Artist, Zulaport, Bastion of Remembrance, Sephiroth, Syr Konrad, and The Meathook Massacre, doubled by Teysa Karlov. Once Sephiroth flips, that drain comes only from your Super Nova emblem, which is not a permanent (CR 114.5), so Teysa does not double it. Replaces Damn, the fourth wipe behind Toxic Deluge, Farewell, and The Meathook Massacre.

4. Pay 50 life, deal 50. Combo w/ lifelink.

T2 ramp staple.

2-mana artifact. Black spells you cast cost 1 less (generic only, never colored), discounting 30 black spells (28 with generic mana in their cost, plus The Meathook Massacre and Agadeem's Awakening when X is 1 or more). Combo math: Sanguine + Exquisite drops 10 to 8; Vito + Exquisite 8 to 6; Bolas's Citadel 3BBB to 2BBB. No effect on Necropotence (BBB), Vampiric Tutor (B) or Imperial Seal (B), which have no generic mana. Karlov (WB) is not one of the 30 and gets nothing on his first cast, but each recast from the command zone costs 1 less, since commander tax is generic mana (CR 903.8).

Classic 2-mana fixer.

1. : draw a card, then put Top on top of your library. : look at the top three cards and put them back in any order, with no bottoming. Combos w/ Citadel.

instant. Choose flying/vigilance/double strike OR lifelink/indestructible/protection from each color until EOT. If you control a commander as you cast it (Karlov out on the battlefield, not in the command zone), you may choose both. Wrath protection plus alpha-strike finisher. Mode two's protection from each color includes black, so it knocks off Pact Weapon (a black Equipment, CR 702.16d); while Pact Weapon is keeping you alive at 0 or less life, choose mode one only.

Exile any nonland for 3 life.

FREE w/ Karlov out. Exile any creature.

FREE w/ Karlov out (free alternative cast if you control a commander, not a discount). Your creatures gain indestructible until end of turn.

Hits ANY permanent.

Premium exile.

Best 1-mana exile.

2B + X life. Best black wipe.

ETB tapped + lifegain. Anti-aggro.

ETB makes a 1/1 white Human Soldier; whenever a creature you control dies, each opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1.

Opponent life loss = lifegain. Combo w/ Sanguine.

enchantment. Whenever a creature you control dies, each other player sacrifices a creature. With the Soul Sisters as fodder and Sephiroth or Diamond Valley as the sac outlet, every death becomes a table-wide edict that grinds opposing boards and protects your combo turn. Teysa Karlov doubles it, so one of your creature deaths makes each opponent sacrifice twice.

Lifegain = opponent life loss. Combo w/ Exquisite or Karlov.

Always taps for B; taps for W only while you control a Plains or a Swamp.

T per Swamp. Big mana with Urborg.

Human token mana sink. Soul Sister fuel.

Colorless land. Tap: add one mana of any color in your commander's color identity. In W/B, taps for W or B untapped, no life cost.

Untapped while you control two or fewer other lands. Taps for W or B, but has no basic land types: not a Coffers count, not a Crypt Ghast trigger, not a Marsh Flats target.

Land. ", Sacrifice a creature: You gain life equal to the sacrificed creature's toughness." A free-to-activate Miren (no cost). An instant-speed outlet that needs only a tap and one creature, with no mana cost; Sephiroth sacs only as a trigger on enter or attack, while Westvale Abbey and Bolas's Citadel are bulk outlets. The gain is toughness-scaled, so sacrificing a high-toughness body (Vilis, Sun Titan) is a large life swing. Every activation is BOTH a lifegain event (loop ignition with any Sanguine-half plus Exquisite-half on board) AND a death-trigger detonation: Syr Konrad, Blood Artist, Zulaport, Bastion of Remembrance, and Grave Pact edicts all fire, doubled by Teysa Karlov. Also dodges targeted removal: sac the creature in response to a Swords or Path for value. Note: produces NO mana (sac ability only), which is the tradeoff for the free activation.

Land - Plains Swamp. : Add or . Enters tapped unless you control two or more basic lands, which with the remaining basics is nearly always true by turn two or three, so it is untapped early. Because it has the Swamp type it counts toward Cabal Coffers and triggers Crypt Ghast doubling when tapped for mana. It is not a basic land, but Marsh Flats searches for "a Plains or Swamp card" with no "basic" clause, so Marsh Flats can fetch it. Upgrade over a basic Plains: fixes both colors, feeds the black mana engines, and is still a fetch target.

WB shockland. Has Plains+Swamp types.

Legendary land. T: add C. 1W, T: put target enchantment card from your graveyard on top of your library. Recurs Sanguine Bond, Exquisite Blood, Necropotence, Smothering Tithe, Grave Pact, Bastion of Remembrance, Authority of the Consuls. Insurance against destroy-based enchantment removal and board wipes, graveyard only; it cannot reach an exiled enchantment (Farewell, Vanishing Verse, Despark).

Untapped w/ Plains or Swamp in play.

WB fetch.

Basic.

: Add . : Add one mana of any color, spend only to cast a legendary spell. : Add one mana of any color among legendary permanents you control. , , Exile Plaza of Heroes: target legendary creature gains hexproof and indestructible until end of turn. The legendary-spell ability needs no board: it pays either of Karlov's pips, so a bare Plaza plus one land of the other color casts him on T2. The unrestricted colored mana is any color among legendary permanents YOU control, so once Karlov or another WB legendary of yours is out, which in this legendary-dense deck is nearly always, it plays as an untapped WB source either way (a mono-white legendary alone gives W only under that ability), and the exile ability is an instant-speed protect-Karlov button (hexproof plus indestructible dodge targeted removal and destroy-based wipes, but not -X/-X wipes like Toxic Deluge or The Meathook Massacre, and not a Farewell exile). Strict upgrade over a basic Plains here because it fixes both colors and protects the commander.

No max hand size.

Enters tapped unless you control two or more other lands. : Add or . New Capenna WB slowland: from turn three on it is an untapped WB dual. Solid colored fixing that is untapped for most of the game.

Legendary Land. : Add . , : Target legendary creature gains fear until end of turn (can't be blocked except by artifact and/or black creatures). Enables the Karlov commander-damage kill by making him nearly unblockable, and can also push through other legendary threats (an Ormendahl flip, a suited-up M.O.D.O.K.). Taps for black on its own, so it replaces the cut Swamp's mana while adding the evasion ability. Comes in over a Swamp rather than a utility land to preserve color balance; black stays deep at 5 Swamps plus Urborg, Caves of Koilos, Shattered Sanctum, Multiversal Passage as Swamp, and Eclipsed Steppe.

Pay 1 life for B or W. Cycles late game.

Basic.

All lands are Swamps.

Untapped w/ 2+ opponents (always in EDH).

Deathtouch + lifelink. Perfect.

Legendary land. T: add C. 1B, T: put target creature card from your graveyard on top of your library. Repeatable recursion for Karlov, Sephiroth, Sun Titan, Vilis, and the creature combo halves Heliod and Walking Ballista (graveyard only, never exiled). Pair with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth so it also taps for B as a Swamp.
